
The Department of Health (DOH) recorded 4,509 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases on Wednesday, June 30.
The newly detected cases brought the country's overall case count to 1,412,559. Of these, 48,649 infections or 3.4 percent are still active.
"Seven duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, five are recoveries," the DOH noted.
Of the active cases, 90.6 percent are experiencing mild symptoms, 4.1 percent are asymptomatic, 1.5 percent are critical, 2.2 percent are in severe condition, and 1.63 percent have moderate symptoms.
There were 105 additional deaths, raising the death toll to 24,662.
"Forty-nine cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation," the DOH said.
Meanwhile, another 5,839 patients have recovered. This brought the total number of recoveries to 1,339,248.
The DOH said that 55 percent of intensive care unit beds nationwide for COVID-19 patients are currently occupied, while 47 percent of isolation beds are being used.
