People must observe the health protocols especially with the emergence of the new Delta coronavirus variant, Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. said on Wednesday, June 30, stressing that strict compliance is the only solution to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Now that there is already a Delta Plus variant, we should take extra care because there is no other solution to this pandemic but to still comply with health protocols being implemented)," Revilla said in a statement.
The World Health Organization and experts, anyway, did not issue any new guidelines to fight the coronavirus expect for the repeated reminders on hand washing, physical distancing and wearing of face masks),” he added.
A COVID-19 survivor, Revilla expressed concern over the discovery of the Delta variants of the novel coronavirus.
Health officials have said that the Delta variant, first detected in India, and the Delta Plus variant, which reportedly came from Nepal, are more contagious and are resistant to some vaccines.
The Delta variant has spread into 92 countries.
In the Philippines, at least 17 cases of Delta variant infections have been recorded so far.
The new coronavirus mutation, if not contained, threatens the country's target of achieving herd immunity and its economic recovery, officials said.
