We all love Denise Laurel for her luscious pillow lips.
But did you know she didn't appreciate it as a young girl?

This was due to her being bullied as a kid owing to the same.
The actress shared her story on Instagram recently, posting a photo of her taken during her first communion.
In the caption, she recalled how her classmates called her names including duckie, mojacko, and arrow-lips.
Even though she looked all-too serene in the photo, Denise shared that moments prior to the photo being taken, she was fighting back tears and had wiped off the lipstick that was applied on her.

It got to the point that she had to learn how to talk and smile while holding her lips as tight as possible to make them look thinner than they are.
Thankfully, she would eventually learn to embrace herself.
“Sharing this to encourage you! There’s no such thing as normal. The fake standard of beauty changes every couple of years, fashion can be fickle or repetitive but their standard has nothing to do with you,” Denise wrote.

She then advised followers, “Enjoy them lips! Or your height, shape! Ilantad nyo na! It’s your one life! Their opinion can’t live your life for you! I love seeing people unapologetically themselves! Go!”
