Shopee, the leading online marketplace in Southeast Asia, has vowed to continue boosting the retail industry, including the Philippines, with no let up in promotional sales and campaigns throughout the year.
At the virtual Shopee event for its 6.6-7.7 Mid-Year Sale, Martin Yu, country head for Shopee Philippines, said they will continue to hold campaigns and continue their efforts for innovation to bring best online shopping experience.
Coming from the fall 2020 where e-commerce posted deep momentum, Yu said Shopee started 2021 with its Cashback sale that reached millions of shoppers in the Philippines. In March, Shopee also launched Mega Sale of the year.
During the recent 5.5 Brands Festival, Yu noted that Shopee strengthened its position as the platform of choice to promote and sell their products as Filipinos shop their favorite brands. The festival saw up to 30 times uplift of orders from top selling brands.
To further boost sales, Yu said they will excite shoppers with monthly pay day sales or every 15th “akinse” providing Filipinos a more rewarding shopping experience and enabling them to make the most out of every “akinse” with exciting deals.
“So mark your calendars,” Yu added.
Shopee Philippines Ambassador and TV host Willie Revillame added it will be a “non-stop promo” for shoppers with bonus, discounts, and prizes as add-ons to price cuts to give the best shopping experience to Filipinos.
For the 6.6-7.7 mid-year sale TV Special on June 6, the shopping platform will give out over P15 million worth of prizes.
Shopee has also made online shopping convenient and safe by providing a secure platform where consumers and sellers can take comfort in using secure payments to send money, buy load and pay bills hassle-free.
The Singapore-based platform also helped many micro, small and medium enterprises digitize and scale to reach a wider audience through collaborative efforts with the government and industry partners.
Last February, Shopee also partnered with the Department of Trade and Industry to support small local businesses from across the country through the Pinoy virtual trade fair. The fair showcased over 1,600 items, ranging from artisanal delicacies to handcrafted items from small Filipino businesses.
