Sea trips in PH ports resume as 'Dante' moves away

Sea travels and fishing operations in areas affected by tropical storm “Dante” have now resumed after the weather disturbance further moved away from the country’s landmass, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said on Thursday, June 3.

“Shipping and fishing operations in all ports nationwide have resumed as of 12 p.m. today, June 3, 2021,” the PCG said in an advisory.

All stranded passengers, vessels, and motorbancas are now allowed to travel by sea, it added.

At least 577 stranded passengers were stranded in various ports of the country due to the rough sea condition as of 4 a.m. on Thursday.

As tropical storm “Dante” further moves away from the country’s landmass, a low pressure area (LPA) has entered the Philippine area of responsibility, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported.

The PAGASA has also lifted all tropical cyclone wind signals as "Dante" further moves away from mainland Luzon while moving northwestward over the West Philippine Sea.
