Robredo reports delivery of COVID-19 medical supplies in prov'l hotspots

The Office of Vice President (OVP) has continued its distribution of personal protective equipment (PPEs) and medical supplies this week in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Vice President and opposition leader Leni Robredo shared photos of several boxes of the PPEs and medical supplies that her office was sending to Camiguin Island and five provinces in Mindanao.

“Another batch of PPEs and medical supplies ready to be brought to the airport tomorrow for distribution,” she said in a recent Facebook post.

According to Robredo, they were sending the supplies to 42 institutions in Misamis Oriental (Cagayan de Oro City, Talisayan, Gingoog City, Balingasag, Initao, Manticao, Lugait, and El Salvador),and a hospital in Mambajao, Camiguin.

The other recipients included the 12 institutions in Bukidnon (Malaybalay City, Maramag, Kibawe, Valencia City, Don Carlos, Talakag, Manolo Fortich, Malitbog, Kalilangan and Libona), and seven more in Lanao del Norte (Iligan City, Kapatagan, Kauswagan, Kolambugan, Baroy, Sultan Naga Dimaporo, and Balo-i).

Medical supplies were also delivered to eight facilities in Lanao del Sur (Marawi City, Tamparan, Malabang, Binidayan, Balindong, and Wao) and four others in Misamis Occidental (Ozamiz City, Jimenez, and Oroquieta City).

Robredo’s office has extended its COVID-19 response programs to the provinces because of the surge in cases.

The vice president had previously said she hoped the government’s vaccination drive would shift to the areas, where transmission rates are high.

“The surge outside NCR+ is real. We’ve been getting more requests now for PPEs and medical supplies compared before,” she said in a separate post.

The OVP has also brought medical supplies to Panay Island, Iloilo, Capiz, Aklan, Antique, Guimaras, Sultan Kudarat, South Cotabato, Negros Oriental, and Negros Occidental.
