Manila to allow walk-ins for A4 vaccination

The Manila City government will allow walk-ins for its vaccination of the A4 priority group or the economic frontliners.

In an interview with DZMM on Wednesday, Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso said workers in the city, including non-residents, can avail of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Domagoso said workers can either register through manilacovid19vaccine.ph or just go to the sites once vaccination for the A4 priority group starts.

“Wala kaming reservation (We don’t have reservation). We don’t like reservation because (the) vaccines should be available to everyone who decided to get vaccinated,” Domagoso said.

Domagoso, meanwhile, reminded those who will go to the vaccination sites to be patient as long lines are expected.

The mayor said the national government has yet to issue a statement as to when the vaccination for the A4 group will begin but was given a tentative date of June 7.

As of first week of June, the city of Manila has inoculated 20 percent of its population aged 18 and above.

The city has also deployed more than 270,000 vaccines for the first and second doses.

Manila, on June 2, opened vaccination sites in four malls, namely, Robinsons Place Manila, SM Manila, SM San Lazaro, and Lucky Chinatown Mall.

The malls will also be the venue for the city’s A4 vaccination rollout.
