Jenine Desiderio greets 'big son' Markus Paterson on his b-day

Singer-actress Jenine Desiderio penned a heartwarming birthday message for Markus Paterson calling him her "big son."

The mother of Janella Salvador thanked the latter for always making them laugh by simply being himself.

"This is one of my favorite moments," she said about the video where Markus and Janella could be seen having fun playing cards.

"Stay strong for you also have us now, your extended family, on your side to be with you in all your battles," Jenine assured, then used the hashtag "#ohana" which is the Hawaiian term for "family."

Jenine's grandson from the two, Jude, is set to turn one year old on October 20.
