Paranaque City temporarily suspends vaccination program due to lack of supply
The Paranaque City government temporarily suspended the city’s vaccination program on Tuesday, June 29, due to the non-availability of vaccines.
The city’s Public Information Office (PIO) head, Mar Jiminez, said Mayor Edwin Olivarez ordered on June 28 the putting up of an advisory on the temporary suspension of vaccination.
Jimenez said around 40,000 Sinovac vaccines arrived in the city on June 28. However, these could not be deployed due to the absence of the Certificate of Analysis (COA) coming from the manufacturer.
He said the city government will immediately resume its vaccination program as soon as the COA is released.
The PIO chief added that with the temporary suspension of vaccination schedule, the affected priority groups are A1 (health workers), A2 (senior citizen), A3 (adult with comorbidities) and A4 (economic workers).
Jimenez said the city government is closely coordinating with the Department of Health (DOH) for the release of COA for the city government to immediately resume vaccination.
He said those who were scheduled for vaccination on Tuesday will be rescheduled while those who were scheduled to receive their second dose will be notified once vaccination resumes.
The PIO chief added that Mayor Olivarez had asked residents to wait for the announcement as to when the city government will resume its vaccinations.
