LOOK: At least 35 Coast Guard personnel donate blood in La Union
At least 35 personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) District Northwestern Luzon have participated in a blood donation drive in San Fernando City, La Union.

Dubbed as “Give blood and keep the world beating; Patak agyamanak, Bawat patak Tumatak,” the activity was organized by the Philippine Red Cross held in Barangay Poro Point, San Fernando City, La Union on Saturday, June 26.
The PCG said the activity aims to help patients in need of blood transfusion amid coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.


“The PCG's active participation in various voluntary initiatives, such as local bloodletting activities to benefit patients undergoing blood transfusion, is a testament to its commitment of providing public service anchored on humility and compassion, especially in this time of pandemic,” said in a statement on Monday, June 28.
Meanwhile, the Coast Guard also expressed support with the San Fernando City government to ensure the health and wellness of the residents in the region.
