
The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday, June 29, reported 4,479 new COVID-19 cases nationwide.
The new cases pushed the country's overall tally to 1,408,058 of which, 3.6 percent or 50,037 are patients still being treated.
Of the active cases, 90.4 percent of them are experiencing mild symptoms, 4.4 percent are asymptomatic, 1.5 percent are critical, 2.1 percent are in severe condition, and 1.54 percent have moderate symptoms.
The death toll jumped to 24,557 with 101 new fatalities. The country's case fatality rate is at 1.74 percent.
Meanwhile, the recovery count also climbed to 1,333,464 after 6,471 more patients beat the viral disease. The country's recovery rate is at 94.7 percent.
“Bagama’t ang mga kaso sa ating bansa ay unti-unting bumabagal, nais pa rin naming ipaalala para sa ating kababayan, patuloy pa rin ang ating pagpapatupad at pag comply sa minimum public health standards (Although the case transmission in our country is slowing down, we still want to remind our countrymen to implement or comply with minimum public health standards),” said DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire.
The LGUs were also urged to strictly implement the prevention, detection, isolation, trace, and reintegration strategies to further push down the number of daily cases.
