Valenzuela City resident receives country's symbolic 10 millionth COVID-19 vaccine dose
A senior citizen from Valenzuela City on Monday morning received her first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and heralded a milestone in the country's vaccination program for reaching 10 million doses administered in the country.
Nieves Catacutan, 74, received her 1st dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at the Valenzuela Astrodome.
Health Secretary Francisco Duque III administered the jab on her.

Catacutan was inoculated under the A-5 or indigent resident category.
As of 6 p.m. of June 27, a total of 10,065,414 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were already administered. Of the number, 7,538,128 Filipinos already got their 1st dose while 2,527,286 completed the jab, according to the national government.
Mayor Rex Gatchalian thanked the national government for its help and expressed commitment that the local government would join the national government in achieving its target of herd immunity by November. He said this will become possible by inoculating 467,000 residents.
Currently, about 175,000 residents are already vaccinated, Gatchalian added.
