Pasay police arrest businessman for carnapping, possession of firearm and drugs
A businessman who posed as an agent of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) was arrested by patrolling policemen while having a heated argument with a businesswoman and seized from him P224,400 worth of shabu in Pasay City.
Pasay City police chief, Col. Cesar Paday-os, identified the suspect as Mark Rovel De Ocampo, 41, of Meadwoods Executive Village, Bacoor Cavite.
Paday-os said the victims were identified as Josephine Llavore, 44, a businesswoman, and Rodrigo Villacorta Jr., 38.
The incident happened at about 10:45 p.m. in front of Shore Residence located along Sunrise Drive Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City.
Paday-os said prior to the arrest of the suspect, patrolling policemen saw a commotion and approached the trio who were arguing.
He said De Ocampo was being confronted by Llavore and Villacorta who allegedly carnapped their Fortuner vehicle with license plate number NDM 9226 .
The city police chief said De Ocampo tried to run towards inside the car but was blocked by patrolling policemen ordering him to surrender and go out from the car.
Paday-os said the suspect opened the left window of his car and showed to arresting police officers an NBI badge. Inside the suspect's car was a .9mm caliber firearm.
The police also found about 33 grams of shabu worth P224,400 and one ziplock plastic sachet containing 19 glass pipes or tooters.
Charges of violations of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition), RA 10883 (New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016) and RA 9165 (Comprehensive Drug Acts of 2002) were filed against the suspect.
