Olivia Rodrigo proud of her Filipino heritage

Filipino-American singer Olivia Rodrigo, who topped the charts with "Driver's License," is proud of her Filipino line, and she hasn't forgotten her roots despite her smashing success in the music scene.

This was revealed by Olivia in an article written by Tomas Mier for the online edition of People Magazine recently.

The 18-year-old singer was emotional as she represented the Filipino community in the US.

"It's so touching and makes me want to cry," said Olivia, when asked what's it like to represent the Filipino community abroad.

Olivia added: "Representation in the media is so important. I'm so glad that I can be an example for little Asian girls and show them that they can do anything they set their mind to."

While she has written records on heartbreak, Olivia revealed: "I literally write breakup songs before I ever held a boy's hand. I just love writing music."

In May, Olivia debuted her critically acclaimed album "Sour." It spawned other hit songs "Deja Vu" and Good 4 U," the latter also went to number one in the US charts.
