Navotas City gov't allows operation of public markets, grocery stores, and talipapas every Monday
The city government of Navotas City will allow public markets, grocery stores, and talipapas to operate every Monday.
The city has lifted the order of Monday closure for the disinfection of the said establishments.
Mayor Toby Tiangco signed Executive Order 139, Series of 2021, allowing public markets, grocery stores, and talipapas to operate daily except every 1 to 3 P.M. on Mondays.
“Our COVID cases are decreasing that’s why we are easing some restrictions. However, we need to continue to be careful especially now that our country has confirmed cases of the Delta variant,” he said.
“While we shortened the disinfection hours, we expect operators and vendees to follow and enforce public health protocols, and conduct daily disinfection,” he added.
The city mayor also said that failure to conduct the clean up activities may lead to the re-implementation of the disinfection day.
“We need to be vigilant lest we risk losing the gains we have achieved in our fight against COVID-19,” he said.
In February, the city government has designated Monday as disinfection day to lessen the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
