Fil-Am trans woman wins Miss Nevada 2021, vies for Miss USA crown

For the first time, a Filipino-American trans woman will compete at the Miss USA 2021 pageant on Nov. 29.

This after Kataluna Enriquez won Miss Nevada USA on June 28, earning her the right to represent the American state at the Miss USA 2021 beauty pageant.

If Kataluna wins Miss USA 2021, she will head for the 2021 Miss Universe Competition which will be held either in December 2020 or January 2021.

Enriquez, 27, edged out 21 other candidates for the title of Miss Nevada USA.

If she wins, Enriquez will be the second trans woman to compete at the Miss Universe contest, the first being Angela Ponce of Spain in 2018.
