Coast Guard conducts lifeguard training for 21 responders in Cebu
Personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Station Central Cebu Operations Unit have conducted a five-day lifeguard qualification training for 21 responders in Naga City, Cebu.


In a statement on Sunday, June 27, the PCG said the participants composed of City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) staff and lifeguards of private beach resorts in Naga, San Fernando, and Carcar performed different life-saving techniques of drowning scenarios in Barangay Langtad, Naga City, Cebu on June 22 to 26.
The participants were also trained on the proper conduct of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid.
The Coast Guard said the initiative aims to intensify search and rescue for the residents and tourists in the province.
