Bren Esports continued to flaunt its dominance in Valorant as it beat Boom Esports of Indonesia, 2-1, to emerge victorious in the VALO2ASIA Launch Invitational on Sunday night, June 28.
Three-time winner in the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) PH Challengers, Bren easily seized the first map Icebox with a 13-6 triumph but Boom forced a deciding game with its own 13-6 win in Bind.
Jayvee "DubsteP" Paguirigan took charge in the winner-takes-all game in Ascent, posting 26 kills (2.4 KDR) and 316 ACS to fuel Bren's title-clinching 13-9 victory.
The squad in black and yellow, which also features Jessie "JessieVash" Cuyco, Jim "BORKUM" Timbreza, Kevin "Dispenser" Te and Riley "Witz" Go, bagged the $2.000 (over P97,000) top prize of the $3,000 pool.
Bren earlier stunned VCT Southeast Asia Stage 2 Finals runner-up FULL SENSE of Thailand, 2-1 (13-5 in Haven; 3-13 in Bind; 13-10 in Ascent), to enter the grand finals of the invitational tourney.
It was the third straight championship for JessieVash and the crew since finishing at the 5th-6th place in the VCT SEA Stage 2 Finals. They ruled the SteelSeries Prime Valorant Tournament and AMD Adrenaline Valorant Tournament earlier this month.
For its part, Boom settled for $1,000 after upsetting VCT SEA third-placer Paper Rex of Singapore, 2-0.
