Students from Bicol University joined the push for the distribution of P10,000-financial aid for students struggling to study amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

Various student groups and networks are lobbying for the provision of a one-time cash subsidy of P10,000 for each student and those who dropped out during the pandemic.
The subsidy will assist the students in their expenses related to distance learning, tuition, other fees, gadgets, and Internet connectivity.
"Despite the worsening health and economic crisis in a span of more than a year of lockdown, students are also forced to face heavy academic burdens which caused them to suffer severely in all aspects of their lives," Bicol University Student Aid Network said in a statement.
Citing the difficulties brought by blended learning, the group said the financial aid for all students is "essential to sustain their education amid pandemic."
"As a state university, the population of Bicol University is composed of primarily of students from families of middle-income to low-income earners who were also greatly affected by the current economic crisis," it added.
"We urge the government to provide all forms of support that it should provide for the education of the youth, especially in preparing the gradual and safe reopening of classes."
