200,000 individuals vaccinated vs.COVID-19 in Pasig City -- Mayor Vico

More than 200,000 individuals have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in Pasig City, Mayor Vico Sotto announced on Monday (June 28).

"Good news, lampas na tayo doon sa (we have breached the) 200,000 jab mark, nasa 205,000 na tayo ngayon (we are now at 205,000). Karamihan niyan ay first dose, samantala, ang second dose natin ay nasa 50,000 plus na rin. So, magandang-magandang balita po iyan (Most of the vaccinated individuals received the first dose, meanwhile, over 50,000 already got their second dose)," the mayor said in a Facebook live.

Sotto said that the supply of COVID-19 vaccines from the national government remains inadequate.

"Na-li-limit lang tayo sa supply. Wala naman tayong magawa kung 'di dumarating sa Pilipinas 'yung ganoon karaming supply (We are limited by the supply. We can't do anything if that much supply doesn't come to the Philippines)," he said.

"Pero kung isipin niyo ngayon kumpara sa two months ago, mas marami ngayon. Pumapalo ng 6,000 vaccinations in one day (But think about it, compared to two months ago, there are more vaccines now. We are now vaccinating around 6,000 individuals per day)."

Sotto reminded Pasig residents that walk-ins are still not allowed at vaccination sites in the city. He urged them to wait for a text message from the local government containing their vaccination schedule.

He said the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city continues to go down.

As of June 28, Pasig City has a total of 250 active cases of COVID-19.

"Kailangan pa rin mag-ingat nang husto. Personal na pag-iingat pa rin talaga (We still need to be very careful. Personal precaution is really important)," Sotto said.
