The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) is expected to open its first professional conference tournament on July 17, organizing president Ricky Palou said Sunday.
Palou said matches would be held at the Centennial Arena in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte under a bubble-type setup similar to what the PBA had done last year.
Schedule of matches and details of the opening ceremony, however, are still being finalized.
Twelve teams are competing in the Open Conference that include 2019 champion Creamline, Petro Gazz, BaliPure, Choco Mucho, Perlas, Army, Sta. Lucia, UAC, PLDT, Cignal, Chery Tiggo and F2 Logistics.
League organizers also offered the national women’s team to have practice sessions with member squads as the conference coincides with its bubble training at the same venue.
The opening of the tournament has been moved a number of times including in recent months after most teams requested for longer team training.
Teams are currently training in their respective bubble.
