A netizen has apologized to Vice President Leni Robredo for the insults he hurled at her during the 2016 election campaign and for wishing that she had died alongside her husband, the late former Interior secretary Jesse Robredo.

A screenshot of the Facebook post by a certain Earl Justin was shared by anti-Duterte blogger Juan Lagalag in which the former tagged and apologized to the vice president for accusing her of cheating when she won as vice president, defeating former Senator Bongbong Marcos Jr.
“I’m sorry at grabe ‘yung mga pinagsasasabi ko sayo noong 2016 election campaign. Nagsisisi talaga ako sobra (I’m sorry for the gravity of what I said about you during the 2016 election campaign. I’m really regretting it),” he said.
“Sana pag tumakbo ka ng pagka-presidente, ikaw ang manalo (I hope that when you run for the presidency, it is you who will win),” the netizen added.

Earl said he cannot forget that he told Robredo it’s good that her husband died and that she should have died along in the crash. The former Interior secretary and Naga City mayor died in a plane crash off the coast of Masbate in August 2012, leaving behind Robredo and their three daughters.
The netizen remembered that he could not accept that Robredo won as vice president.
“Tinawag pa kitang mandadaya at magnanakaw ng boto (I even called you a cheat and a thief),” he wrote.
But now, Earl said that he has seen the “truth.”
“Humingi ako ng patawad sa inyo at namulat na ako sa katotohanan (I am sorry and I now realize the truth). You stood up for this country when our supposed ‘president’ defended China,” he added.
President Duterte has been criticized for his defeatist remarks about the maritime issues with China, even going so far as to defend China in its expansive claims in the West Philippine Sea.
Robredo has not revealed her political plans yet for 2022, though she never denied that she’s considering running for president or governor in her home province of Camarines Sur.
