No more PH reps in WR Summer Super Cup as Team Secret's gutsy comeback falls short

Team Secret's crazy comeback win in Game 4 was not enough as it lost to the favored CERBERUS Esports of Vietnam in a quarterfinal thriller, 3-2, and bowed out of the League of Legends: Wild Rift Southeast Asia Icon Series Summer Super Cup on Saturday night, June 26.

Secret tied the nail-biting series for a second time after Heri "Tatsurii" Garcia's Ahri and the gang repulsed Cerberus' backdoor attempt in the fourth game that left their Nexus standing at only 87 HP.

The Filipino team took down the Vietnamese side's Fiora, Corki and Ziggs who sneaked into their base then marched down the middle lane to destroy the enemy Nexus and force a winner-takes-all Game 5.

However, the Fiora of Cerberus' baron laner BMM wreaked havoc all around the map as they managed to take care of their massive lead en route to a lopsided victory in the decider.

Secret joined fellow Filipino squad Amihan Esports at the 5th-8th place of the 16-team regional tilt for a prize of $8,500 (over P412,000).

Amihan, the PH Icon Series Summer Split champion, also suffered a 3-2 heartbreaker earlier to SBTC Esports--a Vietnamese team as well.

As their respective campaigns concluded, Amihan and Secret now look forward to the Fall Split expected to start next month.
