Hair fall is a natural occurrence. But, according to Basement Salon creative director Stefan Wilczynsk revealed that 99 percent of the time, stress is the cause of hair fall. “The first reason is our lifestyle, we are not made to run 24 hours a day. We work and rest for a while. Thanks to mobile phones and gadgets now, we are all available 24/7 for the rest of the world. Anybody can call and text. We hardly have time to rest,” explains Stefan. 

This is so true, even more so during this pandemic that we are in. Though we are “safe” in the comfort of our home, there are so many things that keep us worried and up almost all night. Lessening, or even zero, our visits to the salon, Stefan adds that the biggest concern of most Filipinos is hairfall. Next would be dryness of hair and itchy scalp. “It’s all stress-related because of the pandemic. Everybody is stressed. And even without the pandemic, we were already stressed.”

Stefan recommends three star products from French luxury hair care brand Kerastase that can help Filipinos with our hair concerns. Genesis Anti hair-fall serum has ginger root extract, Aminexil, and Edelweiss native cell, stopping hair fall from the root, even breakage at the strands. Reports share that it can reduce hair fall by up to 84 percent after six weeks of using it. Even postpartum moms like Camille Co and Kryz Uy use this serum. 

Oléo-Relax Advanced Hair Oil is great for Filipina hair which is known to be wavy and frizzy. Just a few pumps shorea butter, coconut oil, and rosa canina fruit oil mix of this on your hair strands will do wonders on your locks.
