Tarlac prelate directs priests to offer requiem mass for former President Aquino

Tarlac Bishop Enrique Macaraeg has directed all priests in his diocese to celebrate a requiem Mass for former president Benigno Aquino III on Saturday, June 26.

"Bishop Enrique Macaraeg directs all parish priests and priests-in-charge in the diocese to celebrate a requiem Mass for the soul of the late former president Benigno Aquino III, tomorrow, June 26, in all parishes and pastoral stations," the Diocese of Tarlac said in a Facebook post Friday, June 25.

The diocese offered their sincerest condolences and prayers to the Aquino family for the demise of the former president "who is a part of the faithful of our local church."

The Diocese of Tarlac also thanked Aquino "for his service to the people."

Aside from Tarlac, a requiem Mass will also be offered for Aquino in the Diocese of Legazpi on Saturday.

Aquino, 61, died Thursday, June 24, due to renal failure secondary to diabetes.
