PH's first Moderna COVID-19 vaccines to arrive on June 27 - Dizon

The Philippines is expecting the arrival of its first shipment of Moderna vaccines against coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on June 27, the country’s testing czar said Friday, June 25.

National Task Force Against COVID-19 (NTF) deputy chief implementer and testing czar Secretary Vince Dizon said that the first batch of Moderna vaccines will be shipped from the United States.

“Sa Linggo, darating na ang unang-unang shipment natin ng bakunang Moderna (Our first shipment of the Moderna vaccine will arrive on Sunday),” Dizon said in a televised public briefing.

“Ito ay bakunang galing sa America at ito’y ibabahagi natin pati sa private sector (This is a vaccine from America and we will share it with the private sector),” he added.

NTF Chief Implementer and vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. earlier said that some 250,000 Moderna doses, including those purchased by the private sector, are expected to arrive on June 27.

“Dahil sa efforts ng gobyerno at ng private, dumadami at dumadami na ang mga bakuna (Due to the efforts of the government and the private sector, the supplies of vaccines are increasing),” Dizon said.

“Kaya tuloy-tuloy nating makikita pa ang pag taas ng pagbabakuna natin araw-araw (So we will continue to see an increase in our vaccinations every day),” he added.
