Pasay LGU to strictly monitor ROFs for Delta variant

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the city government will strictly monitor arriving “balikbayans” and Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who may be possible carriers of the Delta variant of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Rubiano said since the city is near the airport, she already coordinated with the national government to alert them once “balikbayans” and OFWs finish their 10-days quarantine period in a hotel.

She said the city government will still conduct monitoring during the remaining four days of the quarantine period to ensure that the Delta variant will not spread in Metro Manila or in the country.

The mayor also said that in order to prevent the spread of the Delta variant, the Metro Manila Council (MMC) requested for the deployment of police in the hotels where “balikbayans” and OFWs are being temporarily housed for their mandatory 10-day quarantine.

Rubiano said hotel house parents from the Department of Tourism (DOT), Department of Transportation (DOTR), and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) were also requested to monitor the health conditions of “balikabayans” and OFWs.

She also said the city government is also conducting intensified contact tracing and prevent-detect-isolate-treat and reintegrate (PDITR) system to ensure the new variant will not spread in the city or in Metro Manila.
