New public hospital in Zamboanga Sibugay to be finished next month--DPWH
The construction of the state-run Imelda District Hospital--which is expected to give Zamboanga Sibugay folk better access medical services--is set to be completed by July 2021, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said.

The hospital's construction has already reached phase two and is now 93.14 percent complete, according to the agency.
“We are fast-tracking the construction of this public hospital so that those who require medical care no longer have to bear long drives to reach hospitals. This will also be helpful in our COVID-19 response in the area,” DPWH Secretary Mark Villar said Friday, June 25.
The district hospital, which is located in Barangay Santa Barbara in Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay, seeks to address the limited access of the townsfolk to medical and hospital services, the secretary noted.
According to DPWH Regional Office 9 Director Cayamombao D. Dia, the new hospital will also benefit neighboring municipalities by providing an additional medical facility in the area that can fill the shortage of hospital beds caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Costing P49.4 million, the hospital building project is being implemented by the Zamboanga Sibugay 1st District Engineering Office.
