Legazpi prelate to offer requiem mass for former President Benigno Aquino III

Legazpi Bishop Joel Baylon will offer a requiem Mass for former president Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III on Saturday, June 26.

The Diocese of Legazpi said the requiem Mass is the local Church's "gesture of solidarity with the rest of the country in mourning his passing away."

The Mass will be held at the Albay Cathedral at 7:30 a.m.

It will be broadcasted and livestreamed by Radyo Veritas Legazpi, in the Facebook page of the diocese, and other social media platforms of parishes in the diocese.

The diocese said this is "so our faithful may join in prayer."

"Let us pray for PNoy's eternal repose, and for our country that he loved till the end," the diocese said in a Facebook post.

Aquino, 61, passed away on Thursday, June 24, due to renal failure secondary to diabetes.
