After lengthy quarantine period, Gilas 3x3 players finally join PBA practice

The four members of the Gilas Pilipinas squad that competed in last month’s FIBA 3x3 Olympic Qualifying Tournament have finally joined the preparation of their respective PBA ballclubs recently.
Photos provided by the PBA this week showed Joshua Munzon, the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft, taking part in Terrafirma practices in Batangas City.
Also back with their PBA commitments are CJ Perez and Mo Tautuaa with San Miguel Beer in Lipa City, Batangas and rookie Alvin Pasaol for Meralco in Batangas City.
Munzon, Perez, Tautuaa and Pasaol took part in the OQT last month in Graz, Austria but didn’t win a single game against Slovenia, France, Dominican Republic and Qatar.
They underwent a quarantine period as required for traveling passengers before being cleared to train with their PBA teams.
Munzon, Perez and Pasaol will finally get a chance to familiarize themselves more with their teams since they didn’t take part in full practice and scrimmages before their Gilas 3x3 commitments.
Perez joined SMB in a trade from Terrafirma while Munzon and Pasaol, Meralco’s ninth overall selection, were drafted last March.
Full practices have been going on since May as the PBA waits if the Inter-Agency Task Force will allow them to start the 46th season next month.
