Dizon: PH to reach 10 million-mark of administered COVID-19 vaccines next week

The country is expected to have admistered 10 million doses of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccines by next week, said National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19 Deputy Chief Implementer Vince Dizon.

"Come Monday or Tuesday next week, we will already have jabbed 10 million doses," said Dizon in a press briefing on Thursday, June 24.

Dizon said that the country has administered 350,000 doses of vaccines last Wednesday, June 23---the Philippines' "highest jab rate in one day."

"I think with the additional vaccine doses that are coming in... the number that we reached yesterday will only get higher and higher in the coming weeks," he said.

Dizon said that the national government is helping the different local government units (LGUs) in their vaccination rollouts.

" have been helping out our LGUs... to make their process more efficient and allow them to jab faster and jab more people. And that has resulted in a tremendous increase in our jabbing capacity in the last two to three weeks," he said.

The daily vaccination output, however, will still be dependent on the vaccine supply, said Dizon.

"You have to understand, the jab rate is largely dependent, primarily on supply," he said.

As of June 20, a total of 8,407,342 vaccine doses have already been administered nationwide. Of this figure, 6,253,400 have received their first dose, while 2,153,942 have already completed the required two doses, as shown in the data of NTF.
