500 TODA members get COVID jab in Pasay City

The Pasay City government has started to inoculate members of the tricycle operators and drivers association (TODA) at the Giga vaccination center in SM Mall of Asia on Thursday, June 24.

Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said around 500 members of TODA were inoculated with Sinovac and their tricycles were given a “Vacc TODA to the Future” stamp.

Rubiano said the “Vacc TODA to the Future” stamps will prove that tricycle drivers were already vaccinated against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

She said the stamp placed at the tricycles of every members of TODA also showed that “Basta Bakunadong Driver, Safe Passenger.”

The mayor said the city government has on record about 5,000 TODA members all over the city.

Rubiano said that as a way of showing gratitude to TODA members who were vaccinated, they will be part of a raffle draw with P50,000 as grand prize.

She also thanked TODA members for helping the city government during the surge of the virus by allowing the use of their tricycles to deliver the basic needs of residents, like food packs.

Rubiano said that after inoculating the 5,000 TODA members, the city will immediately start the vaccination of around 2,000 pedicab operators and drivers.
