PCG transports COVID-19 vaccines, relief supplies in Tawi-Tawi, Sulu
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has transported 33 boxes of Chinese-made Sinovac vaccines for residents of Mapun, Tawi-Tawi on Wednesday, June 23.
Personnel of the PCG’s BRP Tubbataha (MRRV-4401), in cooperation with the 55 medical workers of Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO), are set to conduct medical, dental, and surgical missions for the residents in the municipality on Wednesday.


Apart from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccines, the PCG personnel also transported medical supplies for the health frontliners.
Meanwhile, at least 100 fishermen received relief supplies off Maimbung, Sulu waters on Tuesday, June 22.
PCG’s BRP Bagacay (MRRV-4410) distributed relief packs that contained rice, canned goods, and anti-bacterial soap for the fishermen to help them against COVID-19.


The PCG started on Monday, June 21, the third phase of their maritime drills, which zero in on anti-piracy and anti-terrorism in Mindanao to strengthen the maritime law enforcement within the region.
Members of the Coast Guard Special Operations Force were deployed in the region with four ships and three helicopters.
