CEB carries 1.78 million vaccine doses across PH

Cebu Pacific (CEB) already flew over 1.78 million COVID-19 vaccines to 15 key domestic provinces since March 2021, with Cebu and Roxas as latest destinations.

This is in line with the airline’s initiative to support the country’s goal to inoculate 58 to 70 million people to achieve herd immunity by end-2021.

On June 17, CEB carried a total of 14,040 Pfizer doses to Bacolod and Roxas, and 14,480 Sinovac doses to Tuguegarao the following day.

Yesterday, CEB transported more than 30,400 doses to Cagayan de Oro.

Earlier today, the airline flew over 125,000 doses to Cebu, Cotabato, Dumaguete, Legazpi, and Zamboanga.

"We are happy to have reached another milestone in such a short period of time, which reflects significant progress in the Philippines’ vaccine distribution efforts outside NCR," Alex Reyes, CEB Chief Strategy Officer stated.

The transported vaccines were subject to strict handling guidelines which entail storing them in temperature-specific refrigerated containers to maintain potency and efficacy up until arrival at their designated stations.

Todate, CEB has flown six million vaccine doses from China, on top of more than 1.78 million doses transported across the Philippines.

It has now delivered doses to 15 domestic destinations from Manila namely Bacolod, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Cotabato, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Masbate, Puerto Princesa, Roxas, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, Virac, and Zamboanga.

Apart from transporting vaccines to and within the Philippines, CEB worked with the local government of Pasay to vaccinate its employees under the A4 category.

To date, 31% of CEB line pilots and cabin crew have already been vaccinated.

CEB operates the widest domestic network in the Philippines covering 32 destinations, on top of its six international destinations.

Its 75-strong fleet, one of the youngest in the world, includes two dedicated ATR freighters and one A330 freighter.
