Administration of 2nd dose of Sputnik vaccine to Navotas residents to be delayed

The administration of the second dose of the Russian-made Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine to Navotas City residents may be
delayed, Mayor Toby Tiangco said Wednesday.

Tiangco on Twitter apologized to its residents after the national government announced the delivery of 50,000
doses of the said brand “will be deferred to a later date” because of “ongoing upgrades and latest developments on the vaccine.”

“Kaugnay nito, ipapaalam po namin kaagad sa inyo kung kailan ang bagong schedule ng inyong 2nd dose, kapag
nasabihan na kami (In line with this, we will inform you once we get the schedule of the arrival of the batch of the 2nd dose supply),” the mayor said.

He assured his constituents that the efficacy of the vaccine will not be compromised based on the pronouncement of
its manufacturer.

“Kami po ay humihingi ng inyong pang-unawa dahil hindi po namin kontrolado ang sitwasyong ito (We ask for your
understanding as this is out of our control),” he said.
