Tagle won't be able to attend Advincula's installation

Filipino Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle will not be able to attend the installation of Cardinal Jose Advincula on June 24.

"Cardinal Tagle will not attend. He is in Rome," Father Reginald Malicdem, the chancellor of the Archdiocese of Manila, said in an interview Sunday, June 20.

Tagle is the current prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples in the Vatican.

It was in March when Pope Francis appointed Advincula as the new Archbishop of Manila.

The Archdiocese of Manila has been without an archbishop since Cardinal Tagle left for Rome in February 2020 to assume his new post in the Vatican.

Advincula will be formally installed as the 33rd Archbishop of Manila at the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros.
