PAGASA: 'Habagat' expected to bring rain showers, thunderstorms over some areas in western Luzon, W. Visayas

Light to at times moderate to heavy rains may affect some parts of western Luzon and Western Visayas in the next 24 hours due to the prevalence of the southwest monsoon or "habagat" over Luzon.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Monday, June 21, said scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may affect Zambales, Bataan, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan, Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental.
PAGASA warned against possible flash floods or landslides as rains may become moderate to at times heavy.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to habagat and localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA also advised the public to stay vigilant against flash floods or landslides that may occur during severe thunderstorms.
Moreover, the low pressure area east-northeast of extreme northern Luzon has already left the Philippine area of responsibility on Sunday evening, June 20, said PAGASA weather specialist Meno Mendoza.
Moderate to rough sea conditions will likely prevail over the coasts of northern and Central Luzon, while slight to moderate conditions may prevail over the seas across the rest of the country.
While no gale warning is in effect, PAGASA still advised seafarers and fisherfolk to remain alert during severe thunderstorms as sea conditions may become rough.
