DOH places Pasay City under low risk of COVID-19

The Department of Health (DOH) placed Pasay City under low risk classification of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

This is based on the report made by the DOH Feasibility Analysis of Syndromic Surveillance Using Spatiotemporal Epidemiological Modeler for Early Detection of Diseases (FASSSTER) on June 21.

Pasay City together with Paranaque and Malabon were declared on June 15 by the DOH as high risk areas for COVID-19 due to their increasing cases and high average daily attack rate.

The city’s lone public hospital -- the Pasay City General Hospital -- reported a 24% occupancy rate of COVID-19 ward or at normal/safe risk rating.

The hospital’s four ICU beds and the 20 regular COVID-19 beds are now available, and no reported death due to the virus as of June 21.

The COVID-19 transition ward also has a total of 80% occupancy rate and their emergency room is also now open for admission for COVID-19 cases, both residents and non-Pasay residents.

The Public Information Office posted in its Facebook page that the city has 43 active and nine new cases as of June 21.

The city government also declared 175 out of 201 barangays already free from COVID-19.
