Renejay still 'undecided' in Nexplay EVOS

Nexplay EVOS coach Setsuna "Dogie" Ignacio bared that Renejay "RENEJAY" Barcarse has yet to decide if he will really stay with the franchise in the MPL Philippines Season 8.

This despite Renejay getting introduced to the stage along with his "Big Three" buddies John Paul "H2wo" Salonga and Tristan "Yawi" Cabrera during the event unveiling the massive partnership between Southeast Asian giants Nexplay Esports and Indonesia-based EVOS Esports on Saturday, June 18.

"Si Renejay until now undecided pa talaga," said Dogie of the famous gold laner.

The PH Mobile Legends: Bang Bang icon added that jungler H2wo was the first to come up with the decision to stay while tank Yawi was convinced by NXP co-owner and head of business development and partnership Adrian Rob Son.

Dogie shared what went through the anxious weeks after their second straight 7th-8th place finish in the MPL-PH Season 7 last month.

"Firsthand ko na-experience si Yawi na naghahanap na ng team. Si H2wo undecided and Renejay ayaw na talaga. At that point, me, Zico (John Michael Dizon, Season 8 head coach), Sir Gab (Gabriel Benito, NXP CEO and founder) and Sir Rob, everyday two times ko sila tinatawagan, ano nang plano," he said.

"Gusto na talaga nila umalis. 'Di natin sila pwede pigilan kasi 'pag pinigilan mo sila tapos nag-stay sila sa team na 'di na nila gusto mas lalo silang hindi magpe-perform."

Fortunately, H2wo and Yawi stayed with the fan-favorite team while it looks like Renejay will also remain a part of the NXP EVOS' "Big Three".

But whether they will still have the popular trio or not, Benito stressed that the newly-formed NXP EVOS will go all-out for the Season 8 crown.

"They're very important to us. But we all need to realize that we're just doing the best for the team, to bring honor to the brands Nexplay and EVOS, to get the championship. So regardless of who it is, it's actually the best for the team."
