Four persons yield 100K shabu, land in Pasay City jail

Three female drug peddlers and their male cohort were arrested by members of the Pasay City police during a drug buy-bust operation after they yielded more than P100,000 worth of shabu.

Col. Cesar Paday-os, Pasay City's police chief, identified the suspects as Janice Braga, 31, of 374 G. Villanueva St., Barangay 53, Zone 7, Pasay City; Rowella Estonactoc, 42; Mercedita Navarro, 41, both residents of of No. 17 Jocson St., Barangay Malanday, Marikina City; and Rodel Santiago, 29, of No. 9 Rosita St., Barangay Sto. Nino, Marikina City.

Paday-os said the suspects are now detained at the police custodial facility and charges of illegal possession of drugs will be filed against them at the Prosecutor's Office.

He said the suspects were arrested at about 12:30 a.m. on June 1 at the house of Braga.

The city police chief said prior to the arrest of the suspects, members of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) under M/Sgt. Jonathan Bayot conducted a buy-bust operation that led to the arrest of the three female drug personalities who were allegedly the source of shabu being sold in Barangay 53, Zone 7, Pasay City.

Paday-os said SDEU members were able to confiscate from the suspects six sachets containing about 15.1 grams of shabu worth P102,680.

Southern Police District (SPD) director, Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg, said the southern Metro police will not tolerate any illegal activities and encouraged citizens to report criminal activities in their areas to the police.
