CA confirms 28 ranking AFP officers

The powerful Commission on Appointments (CA) on Wednesday, June 2, confirmed the appointments of 28 ranking officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) led by a lieutenant general and three major generals.

Confirmed by the CA during its plenary session were Lieutenant General Greg T. Almerol and Major Generals Stephen P. Parreno, Manuel V. Sequitin and Lowell R. Tan.

The CA plenary session was presided by Senate President Vicente C. Sotto III, concurrent CA chairman.

Also confirmed were one commodore, one captain and 21 colonels.

Their confirmations were recommended by Representative Luis Ferrer IV, chairman of the CA national defense and security committee, after a public hearing attended personally or virtually by senators and members of the House of Representatives contingent.
