Benilde suspends synchronous sessions due to rotational power outages

The De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) has temporarily suspended synchronous sessions until June 7 due to the rotational power outages in Metro Manila and other provinces.

In an email sent to Benilde Central Student Government, Vice Chancellor for Academics Geronio Ulayao announced the suspension as rotational brownouts may be experienced in parts of Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, Quezon, Rizal, and Metro Manila.

During the suspension, only asynchronous activities will be held. Meanwhile, synchronous activities will resume on June 8, Tuesday, once "the power situation improves."

On Wednesday, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines placed the Luzon grid under red alert from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Rotational power outages are expected when the grid is under red alert.

The scheduled brownouts may last until June 7.
