3 suspects nabbed for stealing over P50,000 construction equipment, cellphones in San Juan

Three men were arrested on Tuesday after stealing more than P50,000 worth of construction tools and equipment and various cellphones at a construction site on Paterno St. Barangay Pasadena, San Juan City.

The suspects were identified as Germain Santiago Racraquin, 26; Edgar Alabo Villarin, 53; and Joey Meldrid Mante.

The police report said that Racraquin was hired to be a welder at the construction site where the victims Exeuiel Baguno Cernechez; Rolando Manuel Sto. Domingo; and Rofo Edrial Ogina found out that a number of construction tools and cellphones were missing and Racraquin was nowhere to be found.

The victims then reported the theft to the San Juan Police who then conducted a follow-up operation that led to the arrest of Racraquin who admitted to the crime and pinpointed where he sold the stolen items, leading to the arrest of Villarin and Mante at a junkshop in Barangay Rivera.

Recovered from the suspects were a Bosch electric grinder worth P12,000, Bosch and Makita electric drill worth P9,000 each, and a 70m stranded wire worth P7,990.

The missing cellphones, a Xiaomi Note 9 Pro worth P 7,999 and a Real Me C11 worth P 4,990 were not recovered.

Racraquin was charged with qualified theft while Villarin and Mante were charged for violations of the anti-fencing law.
