Taguig's vaccination output reaches 210,724

The Taguig City government has already administered 210,724 first and second doses of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccine.

On Friday, the Taguig Vaccination Bus went to the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) in Bonifacio Global City and inoculated 130 employees who belong to the A4 priority group or essential workers.

Attending the event were Mayor Lino Cayetano, Sec. Carlito Galvez, National Economic and Development Authority Sec. Karl Kendrick Chua, Sen. Pia Cayetano, and PSE president and CEO Ramon Monzon.

Two vaccination buses, which can accommodate 500 people each daily, were stationed at the PSE building.

“When the Philippine Stock Exchange [index) increases, it means that we have confidence in the revival of our economy. When our economy is vibrant, there will be more jobs so we need it. Vaccination is the key to our transition to the so-called new normal or new future,” said Mayor Cayetano.

Of the 210,724 total doses administered as of June 16, 168,823 people have received their first dose. Since the city government started vaccinating those who belong to the A4 category, 54,940 have been inoculated, according to Dr. Jennifer Lou de Guzman, Taguig National Immunization Program coordinator.

A total of 48,489 A2 or senior citizens have also been vaccinated 88,175 people belonging to the A3, or persons with comorbidities.

The Taguig City government has opened a new vaccination site at Mercado del Lago in Lower Bicutan, which will be exclusively used for senior citizens.
