QC gov't warns public vs scammers

The Quezon City government has warned the public against those who are reportedly using the local government’s name to extort money.

The local government said that some individuals are identifying themselves to be government officials through calls, texts or e-mails.

They would do it to deceive people to get money or other things, it added.

The mayor’s office or any other departments of the city are never engaged in such activity, the local government said.

Residents who will encounter such may report it to the local government through its helpline 122 or [email protected]

The local government also issued said it will not hesitate to hold liable those who will be caught scamming the public.
