CCP Cultural Exchange and AOV Sing Phils. Foundation welcomes a new batch for SPYC

The Cultural Center of the Philippines, through its Cultural Exchange Department and the Andrea O. Veneracion Sing Philippines Foundation, welcomes the newest batch for Sing Philippines Youth Choir (SPYC). This, in total, will be its fourth batch.

Fourth batch of the Sing Philippines Youth Choir

Fifty-nine aspirants were chosen out of 103 applicants nationwide—11 from the NCR, 25 from Luzon, nine from Visayas, and 14 from Mindanao. All applicants were meticulously evaluated by a pool of choral music experts led by the Philippine Madrigal Singers choirmaster, Mark Anthony Carpio.

On July 6, 2021, the fourth batch of SPYC will embark on a month-long virtual music camp. After which, a grand virtual performance will be conducted on July 31, featuring batch 1 to 3 for the mission song, composed by Ily Mathew Maniano with lyrics by Joey Vargas. To date, there are a total of 210 choristers from 110 provinces and local communities from Sing Philippines Youth Choir’s batches 1 to 4.

Veneracion, “A nation singing in harmony and united in songs,” the SPYC can definitely add bearing and hope to people and musicians alike.
