Upgrades on eZConsult website ongoing — Zuellig

Zuellig Pharma Corp., the company that handles Quezon City's online vaccination appointment services, said Thursday that works to upgrade its system are already ongoing after the local government eyed terminating its contract with them following its alleged failure to provide efficient services.

Jannette Jakosalem, the company's chief business officer, apologized to the residents of the city "for the incovenience" that its system, the eZConsult website, might have caused when they were booking their vaccination appointment.

She said they "did not anticipate" the amount of traffic that their system would receive when the national government allowed more people to get inoculated.

"Kapag maraming tao na pumapasok para magtry magbook ng kanilang schedule, nagso-slow down po ang system (Our system slows down whenever many people are using the service to book their schedule)," Jakosalem said in a TeleRadyo interview.

"Ongoing ho ang upgrade na ginagawa natin (Our upgrade is ongoing) since we rolled out the system... I think, yesterday we noted some significant improvements," she added.

Jakosalem said Zuellig's discussion with Quezon City officials regarding the issue "has been ongoing" and that the company will not "back down" on its commitment to provide the city with efficient service.

"Suportado namin yung programs ng Quezon City (We support Quezon City's programs)," she said.

On Wednesday, the local government announced it was "considering terminating" its contract with Zuellig following complaints of "total or partial technical difficulties" from residents who used the service.

The residents experienced difficulty using the eZConsult website and some ended up not being able to sign up and get a schedule.

For Mayor Joy Belmonte, the issue compromises "the sacrifices and efforts" of the city's medical and frontliners and is "putting all our efforts down the drain."

The local government also said it is considering to file charges against the company.
