San Juan City LGU to conduct food safety seminar, pastry-making for residents

The San Juan City local government announced on Tuesday that it will conduct a series of seminar and training for its residents in a bid to boost their competency in food safety and production and provide them with livelihood and businesses opportunities amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora said the LGU, in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), will hold a free food safety seminar for food business owners, eatery owners, cooks, food servers, and others who are working in the food industry on June 18, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. via Zoom.

Zamora said that those who wish to join the seminar must have a Mayor's Permit or Business Permit.

"Mayroon pong certificate na ipagkakaloob ang DTI para dito na magagamit ninyong karagdagang credentials sa inyong pagtatrabaho (The DTI will provide a certificate that participants may use as additional credential in their job)," Zamora said.

The mayor also announced that the San Juan Skills and Livelihood Center will also launch a free bread and pastry production training for its residents on June 21-July 22, every Monday to Friday.

The requirements for the training are three 1X1 picture with full name, birth or marriage certificate, and voter's ID or any government ID.
