Manila acquires 400,000 doses of Sinovac vaccine

The Manila City government has procured 400,000 doses of Sinovac vaccine which Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagosoa expects to arrive “in a matter of few days.”

In his regular live update on Tuesday (June 15), Domagoso said the city has already sent the full payment of P293,523,680 to China’s Sinovac Life Sciences Co., Ltd.

“In a matter of few days, ang Lungsod ng Maynila ay magkakaroon ng sarili niyang bakuna on top of binibigay ng national government (In a matter of few days, the City of Manila will have its own vaccine on top of the ones being given to us by the national government),” Domagoso said.

Domagoso also thanked Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian for assisting the city in its procurement of the SInovac vaccines.

The 400,000 Sinovac vaccines will be deployed to 200,000 individuals, Domagoso said.

In January, 2021, the city also acquired 800,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine which Domagoso said are expected to arrive in September.
