DSWD searching for biological parents, relatives of male child in UAE

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) issued Wednesday night, June 16, a public service announcement calling on the biological parents and relatives of a child supposedly born on March 8, 2009 through home delivery at Nasseriya, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE) to come forward and pave way for his repatriation back to the Philippines.

The DSWD said it is looking for the biological mother, father, and relatives of the male child, who upon birth, was given by his biological mother to childless Filipino Muslim couple, Usman Sagal Amin and Noriah Maguindalat Pangansayan.

“The child, who is now 12 years old, is still in the UAE and could not be repatriated unless proven to be a Filipino,” it said in a statement on Wednesday.

“The DSWD is calling upon the biological mother/father to report to the International Social Service Office (ISSO) or to the Program Management Bureau (PMB) at DSWD Central Office in Batasan or to the nearest DSWD Regional Office so they can be assisted in undergoing DNA extraction and other procedure to pave the way for the child’s repatriation."

It urged the child’s parents and relatives to call the DSWD-PMB office at 8-931-9141 or send an e-mail message to [email protected].
